Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

Distributor Components (Typical):






REMOVE OR DISCONNECT


1. Remove distributor cap.
2. Remove coil cover attaching screws, and lift off cover.
3. Remove coil attaching screws and lift ignition coil and leads from cap. Push up on the coil leads to dislodge them from the cap, otherwise they could break.
4. Remove arc seal and brush with spring.

INSTALL OR CONNECT


1. Install brush with spring.
2. Install arc seal.
3. Install coil into cap. Guide coil leads into cap, otherwise they could break.
4. Install coil cover and attaching screws.
5. Install distributor cap.
