DTC 67
DTC 67 TCC/BLS Brake Switch Malfunction
Circuit Description
The EBTCM monitors the serial data line for PCM TCC Switch input PI71 for TCC switch status. The EBTCM then compares this input with the voltage at terminal 28 of the EBTCM connector (system voltage indicates switch is depressed). Any discrepancy will set DTC 67.
DTC will set when
PCM input PI71 and the brake switch input do not match, after the following drive sequence has been performed:
- Engine "ON", vehicle speed is at 0 mph for at least 4 seconds.
- Vehicle speed is above 30 mph for at least 4 seconds.
- Vehicle speed returns to 0 mph for at least 4 seconds.
Action Taken
1. Code set.
2. TCS disabled.
3. "TRACTION DISABLED" message displayed.
Diagnostic Aids
Check to see if the Stop Lamps are operating correctly, if not go to Lighting and Horns for diagnosis. Check the adjustment of the Stop/BTSI/Cruise Brake Switch. If both of the previous checks are OK, then an open exists in CKT 20 between S315 and the EBTCM.
