Antilock Braking System (ABS)
Code 67: Throttle Position Sensor Comparison Fault.:
Code 67: Throttle Position Sensor Comparison Fault:
Circuit Description:
The throttle position signal is used by the EBTCM to monitor the actual throttle position versus the desired throttle position. The actual throttle position data is then used by the EBTCM, in conjunction with PCM, to control engine torque during a TCS event.
DTC Will Set When:
A throttle position sensor circuit fault is detected by the PCM which sends an error signal to the EBTCM.
The PCM diagnostics are more sensitive than those of the EBTCM, so a DTC 64 will not necessarily be set.
Action Taken:
The "TRACTION CONTROL" lamp will be "ON," and TCS is disabled. ABS remains functional.
DTC Chart Test Description:
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Checks for TP sensor-related PCM DTCs. The PCM DTCs should be repaired first to eliminate those from affecting the TCS DTC 67 condition.
2. Checks for DTC reset after addressing for possible PCM DTCs.
Diagnostic Aids:
It is very important that a thorough inspection of the wiring and connectors be performed. Failure to carefully and fully inspect wiring and connectors may result in misdiagnosis, causing part replacement with reappearance of the malfunction.
