IPC Clear Codes Option

The IPC clear codes option is used in order to clear the stored DTCs. When the clear codes option is selected, the PC clear codes option perform the following actions:
^ Immediately erases all of the set DTCs
^ Displays the IPC codes clear message

Once a malfunction is corrected, clear all of the DTCs in order to ensure that future service procedures are not unnecessarily confused.

Many IPC DTCs have complex test and malfunction conditions.

Performing the following steps may NOT indicate if a malfunction has been corrected:
1. Clear the DTCs.
2. Exit diagnostics.
3. Observe if the DTC sets again.

In order to verify a repair after the repair is complete, review the test conditions for setting a particular DTC. Duplicate the conditions.
