Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
1. Check the rear compartment fuse block COMFORT Fuse by visual inspection. If open, check for a short to ground in CKT 2640 (ORN).
2. Check the LH Maxi Fuse(R) block INDVERT Fuse by visual inspection. If open, check for a short to ground in CKT 542 (RED).
3. Check the engine compartment fuse/relay center MIRROR Fuse by visual inspection. If open, check for a short to ground in CKT 1740 (ORN).
4. Check the engine compartment fuse/relay center INT LPS Fuse by visual inspection. If open, check for a short to ground in CKT 640 (ORN).
5. If the front and console cigar lighter is inoperative, check the engine compartment fuse/relay center CIG LTR 1 Fuse. If open, check for a short to ground in CKT 440 (ORN).
6. If the rear door cigar lighters are inoperative, the check engine compartment fuse/relay center CIG LTR 2 Fuse. If open, check for a short to ground in CKT 540 (ORN).
7. Check that grounds G201 G203, G205, G302, G400, G401, and G402 are clean and tight.
8. If only one lamp does not light, check bulb, socket and related wiring (see schematic).
9. Before component replacement, check for poor connections at related component and in-line harness connector terminal connections.
10. Check for broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause a system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
11. Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.
