Air Compressor Leak Test - ELC
^ Tools Required- J22124-B Pressure Gage (0-300 psi)
- J22124-91 Pressure Gage Adapter
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Attach the J22124-91 pressure gage adapter to the air dryer.
3. Attach the J22124-B pressure gage to the J22124-91 pressure gage adapter with the toggle valve on the opposite side of the air compressor. Close the toggle valve.
4. Apply air pressure at the schrader valve. Pressurize until the J22124-B pressure gage rends 690 kPa (100 psi).
5. Inspect the following areas using soap bubbles:
^ Solenoid valve-Replace the air compressor head if leaking. Refer to Electronic Level Control Air Compressor Head Replacement.
^ Air dryer to compressor head O-ring-Replace the air dryer if leaking. Refer to Electronic Level Control Air Dryer Replacement.
^ Air dryer cover-Replace the air dryer if leaking. Refer to Electronic Level Control Air Dryer Replacement.
^ Air compressor head gasket-Replace the air compressor head if leaking. Refer to Electronic Level Control Air Compressor Head Replacement.
^ Air compressor head cover gasket-Tighten the cover bolts to 5.6 Nm (50 inch lbs.) if the head cover gasket is leaking. If the leak persists, replace the air compressor head. Refer to Electronic Level Control Air Compressor Head Replacement.
6. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
