34. Input Sprag Assemble

Important: This procedure must be followed exactly to be sure that the sprag assembly is installed properly.





1. Assemble the input sprag retaining washers (649) and the cage assembly (650) onto the sun gear (646). The flared shoulder of the sprag cage faces upward.
2. Install the input sprag race (647) over the sprag cage (650).





3. Hold the sun gear with your left hand. The sprag race should hold firmly when turned in a clockwise direction with your right hand. The sprag race should rotate freely when turned in a counterclockwise direction with your right hand.
