Damping Bushing Replacement- Front

Removal Procedure

^ Tools Required
- J 42112 Rear Differential Bushing Kit






1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Use a transmission jack to support the differential.
3. Remove the differential support bracket lower bolts (1).






4. Remove the automatic level control height sensor bolt.
5. Slightly lower the front of the differential.






6. Remove the differential support bracket upper bolt from the differential support bracket.
7. Remove the differential support bracket.






8. Use the following tools to press the bushing out of the bracket:
^ Use the J 42112-2 Bushing Driver/lnstaller.
^ Use the J 42112-3 Bushing Receiver. Note the correct position of the recess (arrow) on the J42112-3 Bushing Receiver.
^ Use a suitable press.

Installation Procedure






1. Align the new bushing in the bracket so that the slots (arrows) on the rubber are parallel to the bracket.






2. Use the following tools to press the new bushing into the bracket:
^ Use the J 421 12-2 Bushing Driver/lnstaller.
^ Use the J 421 12-3 Bushing Receiver. Note the correct position of the recess (arrow) on the J 42112-3 Bushing Receiver.
^ Use a suitable press.






3. Install the upper bracket bolt through the bushing. The bolt cannot be inserted into the bushing when the bracket is in the installed position.
4. Install the differential support bracket to the differential.






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the differential support bracket lower bolts (1) to the differential support bracket (2).
^ Tighten the differential support bracket lower bolts (1) to 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.)+ 38°.
6. Slightly raise the front of the differential.
7. Install the differential support bracket.
8. Install the differential support bracket upper bolt (1).
^ Tighten the differential support bracket upper bolt (1) to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).






9. Install the automatic level control height sensor bolt.
^ Tighten the height sensor bolt to 14 Nm (124 inch lbs.).
10. Remove the transmission jack.
11. Lower the vehicle.
