OnStar(R) Vehicle Communication Unit (VCU) Replacement (UE1)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the rear compartment trim.
2. Remove the bay board fasteners (2).
3. Pull the bay board (1) away from the body and place the bay board (1) module side up in the rear compartment.




4. Disconnect the electrical connection and the coaxial antenna cable from the VCU (2).
5. Slide the VCU out of the mounting Bracket (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Slide the VCU (2) into the mounting bracket (1).
2. Connect the electrical connection and the coaxial antenna cable to the VCU (2).




3. Install the bay board (1) to the vehicle body.
4. Install the bay board fasteners (2).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

5. Install the rear compartment trim.
