Some customers may assume that the memory seats are not operating properly.
The memory seat module is designed to stop memory seat travel when an input is received that the vehicle transmission is in any position other than park. This is the correct and expected response (no repair attempt should be made). A seat which is moving when the vehicle is moving must be the direct result of an input from the driver and not as the result of a memory seat function. Safety is a concern when a seat moves, especially if the vehicle is moving.
When the transmission is in any position OTHER THAN PARK, customers must press and HOLD the memory seat button 1 or 2 to recall the seating positions that are stored in memory.
When the vehicle is in PARK, button 1 or 2 can be pressed and RELEASED and the memory positions will be recalled.
