Suction Hose Replacement

SUCTION HOSE REPLACEMENT

REMOVE PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39500-B A/C Refrigerant Recovery, Recycling and Recharging System




1. Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the suction hose retaining nut from the accumulator.
3. Remove the suction hose from the accumulator.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
5. Remove the front air deflector.




6. Disconnect the suction hose fastener (2).
7. Remove the suction hose (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Electronic Halogen Leak Detector

IMPORTANT: Inspect the sealing washers for damage.

Replace the sealing washers that show any signs of damage.
Sealing washers do not require lubrication.




1. Install the suction hose (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Connect the suction hose (1).

Tighten
Tighten the suction hose fastener (2) to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

3. Lower the vehicle.




4. Install the suction hose to the accumulator.
5. Install the suction hose fastener.

Tighten
Tighten the suction hose to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

6. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
7. Leak test the A/C system. Refer to Leak Testing.
8. Install the front air deflector.
