Instrument Panel Carrier Support Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Removal (Instrument Panel (IP) - Assembly - Removal) .




2. Remove the 4 fasteners (2) retaining the center brace (3) to the tie bar (4) and the floor pan.
3. Remove the center brace (3).
4. Remove the 6 fasteners (1) retaining the tie bar (4) to the body.
Remove the tie bar (4).




5. Remove the fasteners (1) retaining the tie bar bracket (2) to the body.
Remove the bracket (2).
6. Remove the parking brake assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement in Park Brake.




7. Remove the fasteners (2) retaining the reinforcement (1) to the body.
Remove the reinforcement (1).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the reinforcement (1) to the body.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the reinforcement fasteners (2).

Tighten the fasteners to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

2. Install the parking brake assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement in Park Brake.




3. Install the tie bar bracket (2) to the body.
Install the bracket fasteners (1).

Tighten the fasteners to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).





4. Install the tie bar (4).
5. Install the 6 fasteners (1) in order to retain the tie bar to the vehicle.

Tighten the nuts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

6. Install the center brace (3).
7. Install the 4 center brace fasteners (2).

Tighten the fasteners to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

8. Install the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Removal (Instrument Panel (IP) - Assembly - Removal) .
