OIL LIFE LEFT

The oil life index parameter is an indication of the approximate percentage of useful engine oil life remaining since the last reset of the parameter. The oil life index is displayed as ### OIL LIFE LEFT. This figure is calculated by the PCM and sent to the IPC via the class 2 serial data line. When the oil life index parameter reaches 0% the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message is displayed.

In order to reset the parameter after an engine oil change, display the OIL LIFE LEFT message on the driver message center and press and hold the INFO RESET button for approximately 5 seconds. When the parameter is reset, the message 100% OIL LIFE LEFT is displayed.
