MPG AVG

The MPG AVG message is the miles per gallons (MPG) or liters per 100 kilometers (L/100km) obtained since the last parameter reset.

The IPC calculates the average fuel economy parameter as follows: Average Fuel Economy = (trip distance) / (trip fuel used) x scale factor.
In order to reset the parameter, press the INFO RESET button.
The data the IPC uses in order to calculate the average fuel economy is lost if a battery disconnect occurs.
The message contains dashes if the IPC is unable to communicate with the PCM through the class 2 serial data line.
