Headlamp Dimmer Switch

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SM Handling Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Air Bags and Seat Belts.
2. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement.
3. Disconnect the dimmer switch electrical connector.
4. Remove the dimmer switch retaining nut (4) and bolt (3).
5. Remove the dimmer switch rod (5) from the dimmer switch.
6. Remove the dimmer switch (2).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the dimmer switch (2).
2. Install the dimmer switch rod (5) to the dimmer switch (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the dimmer switch retaining nut (4) and bolt (3).
- Tighten the dimmer switch retaining nut and bolt to 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.).
4. Connect the dimmer switch electrical connector.
5. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement.
6. Enable the SIR system. Enabling the SIR System in Air Bags and Seat Belts.
