High Pressure Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation

The system also has a high pressure cutoff switch. This switch is normally closed. The switch opens at 2827-3103 kPa (410-50 psi) in order to interrupt the voltage to the compressor coil. This stops the compressor from cycling, and prevents the pressure relief valve from discharging refrigerant and oil.
