Power Window Motor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
^ It this procedure must be done with the regulator out of the vehicle, the counterbalance spring must be removed first. The regulator lift arms are under tension from the counterbalance spring and can cause serious injury if the motor is removed without removing the spring.
^ Do not attempt to service the regulator motor without releasing the counterbalance spring tension. The regulator lift arm is under tension from the counterbalance spring and can cause personal injury if the motor is removed from the regulator.




1. Remove the door trim panel.
2. Remove the water deflector.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Remove the retaining nuts.
5. Remove the motor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the motor.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the window motor nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the electrical connector.
4. Inspect the window operation.
5. Install the water deflector.
6. Install the door trim panel.
