Window Replacement - Rear Door
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door Service and Repair
2. Remove the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement.
3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the inner window belt sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Rear Door Window Belt Inner (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the inside handle assembly (1) in order to gain access to the window clamp attachment bolts:
1. Carefully pry the front of the assembly (1) rearward.
2. Pull the front of the assembly (1) outward.
3. Slide the assembly (1) forward to remove.
6. Disconnect the handle rod from the clip guide (2).
Caution: Refer to Express Window Down Caution in Cautions and Notices.
7. Reconnect the power window switch and module.
8. Raise the window to the full up position.
9. Tape the window in place.
10. Remove the front window channel. Refer to Window Channel Replacement - Rear Door Front (Window Channel Replacement - Rear Door Front) .
Caution: When working with any type of glass or sheet metal with exposed or rough edges, wear approved safety glasses and gloves in order to reduce the chance of personal injury.
11. Loosen the window clamp attachment fasteners four revolutions.
12. Lower the regulator clamps (2) to the full down position.
13. Remove the rear window channel lower retaining fasteners (1).
14. Remove the window from the door in the following order:
1. While supporting the window through the access hole of the inner panel, remove the tape holding the window up.
2. Lower the window slightly.
3. Position the window forward, away from the rear window channel.
4. Carefully position the window rearward between the inner door panel and the division post.
5. Tilt the window inward, while pulling the window up and out of the door from the inner side of the window opening.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the window into the door in the following order:
1. Carefully lower the window into the door from the inner side window opening, making sure the rear edge of the window is between the inner door panel and the division post.
2. Position the window forward, away from the rear window channel.
3. Raise the window to the full up position.
4. Tape the window in place.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
2. Install the rear window channel lower retaining fastener (1).
Tighten the fastener to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
Important: Ensure that the rubber insulators are properly attached to the window regulator clamps.
3. Carefully raise the window regulator clamps (2) to the full up position, engaging the window (1).
4. Install the front window channel. Refer to Window Channel Replacement - Rear Door Front (Window Channel Replacement - Rear Door Front) .
5. Remove the tape from the window.
6. Complete the following to properly position the window:
1. Lower the window approximately 2 in.
2. Seat the window fully rearward against the division post.
3. Adjust the window forward 2-3 mm (5/64-1/8 in).
4. Raise the window to the full up position.
7. Set the glass with the clamp fasteners.
Tighten the window clamp fasteners to 10.5 N.m (93 lb in).
8. Lower the window (1) to the full down position.
9. Disconnect the power window switch and module.
10. Position the rear of the inside handle assembly (1) into the opening of the inner panel.
11. Press the front of the assembly (1) inward until it fully engages the inner panel.
12. Connect the handle rod to the clip guide (2).
13. Install the inner window belt sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Rear Door Window Belt Inner (Service and Repair) .
14. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
15. Install the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement.
16. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door Service and Repair
