Linear Shift Assembly Replacement - On Vehicle
Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Remove the steering column trim covers.
3. Remove the automatic transmission shift lock actuator.





4. Ensure the Ignition switch is in the off lock position
5. Disconnect the park lock cable (1) by inserting a small screwdriver into the slot on the lock module assembly and push against the locking tab to remove.





6. Remove the flat head tapping screws from the linear shift assembly.
7. Remove the linear shift assembly.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the linear shift assembly and the tapping screws.
^ Tighten the tapping screws to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).





2. Connect the park lock cable assembly (1) to the lock module assembly.





3. Install the automatic transmission shift lock actuator.
4. Install the steering column trim covers.
5. Enable the SIR system.
