Trim Pad Replacement - IP Upper

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer toSIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.




1. Remove the left and right windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) in Interior Trim.
2. Remove the IP air outlet vents. Refer to IP Air Outlet Vent Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Air Vent Replacement - Outlet) .
3. Remove the defroster grille. Refer toDefroster Grille Replacement (Without UV2) (Defroster Grille Replacement (Without UV2))Defroster Grille Replacement (UV2) (Defroster Grille Replacement (UV2)) .
4. Remove the four fasteners (2) from the inside of the vent outlet holes to upper pad (3).
5. Remove the three fasteners (1) from the inside of the defroster grille outlet holes to upper pad (3).




6. Lift the upper IP pad (1) upward from rear edge of the IP cluster in order to disengage the retainers from IP cluster trim plate.
7. Disconnect electrical connectors if necessary.
8. Lift pad on an angle and slide rearward in order to disengage the retainers at front of IP.
9. Remove the IP upper trim pad (1) from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Align the IP upper trim pad to the IP and connect the electrical connections.
2. Slide the IP upper trim pad (1) forward in order to engage the front of the IP trim pad to the IP carrier.
3. Align the rear edge of IP upper trim pad (1) with IP cluster bezel and snap retainers into upper pad.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the four fasteners (2) into the IP air outlet vent openings.

Tighten the trim panel fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

5. Install the three fasteners (1) into the defroster grille opening on the IP upper pad (3).

Tighten the trim panel fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

6. Install the IP air outlets. Refer to IP Air Outlet Vent Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Air Vent Replacement - Outlet) .
7. Install the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement (Without UV2) (Defroster Grille Replacement (Without UV2))Defroster Grille Replacement (UV2) (Defroster Grille Replacement (UV2)) .
8. Install the left and right windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) in Interior Trim.
