Shift Lever - Disassemble

Shift Lever - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Manual Tilt, Column Shift)

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil.
2. Remove the steering wheel from the column.
3. Remove the steering column from the vehicle.
4. Remove the upper and lower trim cover.
5. Disconnect the connector of the shift lever at the base of the steering column.
6. Remove the lead from the clip on the side of the ignition and key alarm switch assembly.
7. Slide the shift lever seal (3) up the shift lever (1).
8. Remove the shift lever screw (2).
9. Remove the shift lever (1).
10. Remove the shift lever seal (3) from the shift lever (1).
