SIR Steering Wheel Module Coil - Disassemble

Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil-Disassemble-Off Vehicle

- J41352 Modular Column Holding Fixture
1. The turn signal switch assembly must be in the UP position.

Important: Check the fused jumper assembly for burned 2 amp fuses before doing this procedure.

2. Align the block tooth on the steering shaft assembly to the 12 o'clock position.
3. Check steering column for accident damage.
4. Place the ignition into the LOCK position to center the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil.
5. Install the steering column and J41352 into a vise.





6. Remove the wire harness assembly from the wire harness strap (1).





7. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil connector (1) from the fused jumper assembly connector (2).





8. Remove the retaining ring.





9. Remove the wire protector.
10. Attach a wire to the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil connector. Attaching a wire to the connector will make installation easier.
11. Gently pull the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil and connector from the steering column.
