Hood Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the hood insulator. Refer to Hood Insulator Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Disconnect the underhood lamp electrical connector.
Caution: Refer to Hood Hold Open Device Caution in Cautions and Notices.

Notice: Refer to Tape Corners of Panel Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Remove the hood assist rods with the aid of an assistant. Refer to Assist Rod Replacement - Hood (Assist Rod Replacement - Hood).




5. Remove the hood hinge pivot fasteners (2) securing the upper hood hinge (3) to the lower hood hinge (5).
6. Remove the hood (1) from the body, with the aid of an assistant..



Installation Procedure





1. Install the hood (1) to the body with the aid of an assistant.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the fasteners (2) in order to secure the upper hood hinge (3) to the lower hood hinge (5).

Tighten the fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

3. Install the hood assist rods. Refer to Assist Rod Replacement - Hood (Assist Rod Replacement - Hood).
4. Connect the underhood lamp connector.
5. Install the hood insulator. Refer to Hood Insulator Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Adjust the hood if necessary. Refer to Hood Adjustment (Adjustments).
7. Remove the tape from the hood and the fenders.
8. Close the hood.
