Fender Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (SLS, w/o TT6, TT7 or TT8), Headlamp Replacement (SLS and STS w/TT6, TT7 or TT8).
2. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper (Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper).
3. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the front fender to hood seal. Refer to Seal Replacement - Fender to Hood (Seal Replacement - Fender to Hood).
5. Remove the rear outer hood seal. Refer to Seal Replacement - Hood Rear (Seal Replacement - Hood Rear).
6. Remove the front wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Front (Service and Repair).
7. Remove the front fender sound insulator. Refer to Fender Sound Insulator Replacement - Front (Fender Sound Insulator Replacement - Front).
8. Remove the rocker panel molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rocker Panel ().

Notice: Refer to Tape Corners of Panel Notice in Cautions and Notices.





9. Remove the fastener (2) securing the lower front portion of the front fender (1) to the vehicle.




10. Remove the fasteners (3) securing the lower rear portion of the front fender (2) to the vehicle.




11. Remove the fastener (3) securing the upper rear portion of the front fender (2).




12. Remove the fasteners (2) securing the upper portion of the front fender (1) to the vehicle.
13. Remove the front fender (1) from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the front fender (1) to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the fasteners (2) in order to secure the upper portion of the front fender (1) to the vehicle.

Tighten the fasteners (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).





3. Install the fastener (3) in order to secure the upper rear portion of the front fender (2) to the vehicle.

Tighten the fastener (3) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).





4. Install the fasteners (3) in order to secure the lower rear portion of the front fender (2) to the vehicle.

Tighten the fasteners (3) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).





5. Install the fasteners (2) in order to secure the lower front portion of the front fender (1).

Tighten the fasteners (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

6. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper (Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper).
7. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Install the front fender to hood seal. Refer to Seal Replacement - Fender to Hood (Seal Replacement - Fender to Hood).
9. Install the rear outer hood seal. Refer to Seal Replacement - Hood Rear (Seal Replacement - Hood Rear).
10. Install the front wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Front (Service and Repair).
11. Install the front fender sound insulator. Refer to Fender Sound Insulator Replacement - Front (Fender Sound Insulator Replacement - Front).
12. Install the rocker panel molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rocker Panel ().
13. Install the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (SLS, w/o TT6, TT7 or TT8), Headlamp Replacement (SLS and STS w/TT6, TT7 or TT8).
