Door Check Link Replacement - Front
Removal Procedure
1. Open the door.
2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Standard) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Standard))Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (WC2, WC8) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (WC2, WC8)) .
3. Remove the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement Service and Repair
4. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door Service and Repair
5. Remove the door check link cover (2).
6. Remove the 2 studs from the door check link arm.
7. Note the position of the arrow on the check link arm to aid in reassembly.
8. Remove the 2 fasteners from the check link.
9. Remove the check link through the front access hole of the inner door panel.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the check link into the door. Ensure the arrow on the check link arm is positioned as noted during removal.
2. Load the check link studs through the access hole in the inner panel.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
3. Install the check link nuts.
Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
4. Position the check link arm to the front body hinge pillar.
5. Install the check link arm to pillar studs.
Tighten the check link arm studs to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
6. Locate the cover (2) with the split facing the inside of the vehicle.
7. Install the check link cover (2) on the check link arm studs (1).
8. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door Service and Repair
9. Install the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement Service and Repair
10. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Standard) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Standard))Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (WC2, WC8) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (WC2, WC8)) .
