Console Replacement - Front Floor (DTS without UV8)

Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 8 in SIR.
2. Set the parking brake.
3. Remove the left console trim panel. Refer to Console Trim Panel Replacement - Left (DTS) (Console Trim Panel Replacement - Left (DTS)) .
4. Remove the right console trim panel. Refer to Console Trim Panel Replacement - Right (DTS) (Console Trim Panel Replacement - Right (DTS)) .
5. Remove the console center trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console (DTS) (Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console) .
6. Remove the I/P center compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (Base and DHS) (Instrument Panel Compartment - Replacement (Base and DHS))Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (DTS) (Instrument Panel Compartment - Replacement (DTS)) .
7. Remove the left knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (Without UV2) (Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (Without RPO UV2))Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (UV2) (Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (With RPO UV2)) .
8. Remove the right knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement - Right (Knee Bolster Replacement - Right) .




9. Disconnect the transaxle range selector cable terminal from the shift lever pin.
10. Pull the lock release and remove the transaxle shift cable from the console.




11. Remove the 4 console fasteners (1, 2) to the I/P.
12. Adjust the front seats rearward.
13. Remove the 2 front console to floor fasteners (3).
14. Adjust the front seats forward.
15. Remove the 2 rear console to floor fasteners (4).
16. Move the console rearward, in order to access the electrical connectors.
17. Disconnect the center console electrical connectors.
18. Remove the center console.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the center console to the vehicle.
2. Connect the center console electrical connectors.
3. Align the locating pins on the center console to the I/P.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the 2 upper console to I/P fasteners (1).

Tighten the fasteners (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

5. Install the 2 lower console to I/P fasteners (2).

Tighten the fasteners (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

6. Adjust the front seats to the forward position.
7. Install the 2 rear console to floor fasteners (4).

Tighten the fasteners (4) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

8. Adjust the front seats to the rear position.
9. Install the 2 front console to floor fasteners (3).

Tighten the fasteners (3) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

10. Install the I/P center compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (Base and DHS) (Instrument Panel Compartment - Replacement (Base and DHS))Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (DTS) (Instrument Panel Compartment - Replacement (DTS))




11. Slide the transaxle range selector cable fully into the console until it snaps into place.
12. Connect the transaxle range selector cable terminal to the shift lever pin.
13. Install the console center trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console (DTS) (Trim Plate Replacement - Front Floor Console) .
14. Install the right knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement - Right (Knee Bolster Replacement - Right) .
15. Install the left knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (Without UV2) (Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (Without RPO UV2))Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (UV2) (Knee Bolster Replacement - Left (With RPO UV2)) .
16. Install both the left and the right console trim panels. Refer to Console Trim Panel Replacement - Left (DTS) (Console Trim Panel Replacement - Left (DTS)) and Console Trim Panel Replacement - Right (DTS) (Console Trim Panel Replacement - Right (DTS)) .
17. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 8 in SIR.
