Sunroof Motor/Actuator Replacement



SUNROOF MOTOR/ACTUATOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Do not apply battery voltage to a new sunroof motor/actuator prior to installing the motor/actuator to the sunroof module assembly.

The sunroof window must be in the full closed position.

1. If possible, close the sunroof window before removing the sunroof motor/actuator.
2. Lower the headliner at the rear in order to gain access to the sunroof motor/actuator. Refer to Headliner Replacement (W/CF5) Headliner Replacement (W/o CF5) Headliner Replacement (WC2, WC8) in Interior Trim.




3. Disconnect the electrical connectors (3) from the sunroof motor/actuator (1).
4. Remove the bolts (5) attaching the sunroof motor/actuator (1) to the sunroof module assembly (2).
5. Remove the sunroof motor/actuator from the sunroof module assembly (2).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Manually move the sunroof window to the full closed position.
2. Install the sunroof motor/actuator (1) to the sunroof module assembly (2).
3. Install the bolts (5) attaching the sunroof motor/actuator to the sunroof module assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

4. Connect the electrical connectors (3) to the sunroof motor/actuator (1).
5. Check the sunroof window to the roof opening fit. Refer to Sunroof Window Height and Opening Fit Adjustment.

IMPORTANT: Verify the sunroof operation before installing the headliner.

6. Install the headliner.
