Seat Back Frame: Service and Repair

SEAT BACK FRAME REPLACEMENT - FRONT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Remove the front bucket seat.
2. Remove the seat back cover and pad.
3. Remove the front seat belt assembly.




4. Disconnect and remove the remaining electrical connectors that are attached to the seat back frame.

IMPORTANT: Note the electrical wiring routing during disassembly in order to ensure proper electrical wiring routing during reassembly.

5. Remove the heated and cooled seat module from the seat back frame.




6. Remove the 4 fasteners retaining the seat back frame to the recliner.
7. Lift up on the seat back frame in order to disengage the seat back from the recliner.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Slide the seat back frame down into the recliner and align the fasteners holes.
2. Install the 4 seat back frame fasteners.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the fasteners to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

3. Install the heated and cooled seat module to the seat back frame.
4. Install the seat back cover and pad.




5. Route and connect the electrical connectors to the seat back.
6. Install the front seat.
