Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair



AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400 Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the front air deflector.




3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (2).
4. Remove the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (2) from the suction hose (4).
5. Remove and discard the O-ring (3) from the suction hose (4).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install a new O-ring (3) to the suction hose (4).
2. Install the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (2) to the suction hose (4).

Tighten the sensor to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

3. Install the electrical connector to the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (2).
4. Install the front air deflector.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Leak test the fittings using the J 39400-A.
