Discharge Hose Replacement



DISCHARGE HOSE REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the upper filler panel.




3. Remove the discharge hose nut and from the condenser.
4. Remove the discharge hose from the condenser.
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
6. Remove the front air deflector.




7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor.
8. Remove the discharge hose nut (2) from the compressor.
9. Remove the discharge hose (3) from the compressor.
10. Remove the discharge hose from the vehicle.
11. Remove and discard the sealing washers from the discharge hose.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install new sealing washers to the discharge hose.
2. Install the discharge hose (3) to the compressor.
3. Install the discharge hose nut (2) to the compressor.

Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Connect the electrical connector to the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (1).
5. Lower the vehicle.




6. Connect the discharge hose to the condenser.
7. Install the discharge hose nut to the condenser.

Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

8. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
9. Leak test the fittings using the J 39400-A.
10. Install the front air deflector.
11. Install the upper filler panel.
