Park Brake Cable Replacement - Right Rear (JL9)

Removal Procedure





1. Release the park brake cable.
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Remove the tire and wheel.
4. Remove the front brake cable (1) from the connector (2).
5. Remove the right rear brake cable (3) from the equalizer (4).





6. Remove the left park brake cable (5) from the equalizer (4).





7. Remove the right rear brake cable from the retainer (6).





8. Remove the retaining bolt (7) and the retaining clip (8) from the chassis.
9. Slide the park brake cable (9) forward and remove it from the park brake actuator (10).
10. Remove the park brake cable (9) from the caliper (11).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the park brake cable (9) in the actuator (10).





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the retaining bolt (7).
Tighten the retaining bolt to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
3. install the retaining clip (8).





4. Install the right rear brake cable in the retainer (6).
5. Install the left rear brake cable (5) in the equalizer (4).





6. Install the right rear brake cable (3) from the equalizer (4).
7. Install the front brake cable (1) in the connector (2).
8. Install the tire and wheel.
9. Adjust the park brake cable.
10. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
