Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair



CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.




2. Remove the CMP sensor bolt.
3. Remove the CMP sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Lubricate the CMP sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
2. Install the CMP sensor.
3. Install the CMP sensor bolt.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




4. Connect the CKP sensor wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the CMP sensor.
