Ignition and Start Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling
2. Remove the steering column trim covers.




3. Remove the theft deterrent module (2) from the ignition lock cylinder case assembly (1).
4. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.




5. Remove the key alarm connector (1) from the ignition lock cylinder case (4).
6. Remove the ignition switch retaining screws (3).
7. Remove the lower case ignition switch (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the lower case ignition switch (2) to the steering column.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the ignition switch retaining screws (3).

Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

3. Connect the ignition switch electrical connectors.




4. Install the theft deterrent module (2) to the ignition lock cylinder case (1).
5. Install the steering column trim covers.
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
