DT-49293 - Gear Select/Skip Shift Solenoid Remover/Installer
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair)
2. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement (With LY7 or LLT) (Service and Repair)
3. Remove the propeller shaft Refer to Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LP1/LY7) (Service and Repair)Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LSA) (Service and Repair)
4. Support the transmission with a suitable jack.
5. Remove the transmission support retaining fasteners from the vehicle body. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement (Manual except CTS-V) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (Automatic RWD except CTS-V) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (Automatic AWD) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (CTS-V) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (Manual CTS-V) (Service and Repair)
6. Slightly lower the transmission to gain access to the solenoid. Refer to Transmission Rear Mount Replacement (Tremec 6-Speed - Manual Transmission)
7. Disconnect the solenoid electrical connector (2).
8. Using the DT-49293 loosen the retaining bolt, then remove the bolt and the solenoid.
Installation Procedure
1. If removed, inspect the solenoid O-ring. Replace the O-ring if necessary.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution)
2. Install the solenoid and bolt.
Tighten the solenoid retaining bolt to 40 Nm (30 lb ft).
3. Connect the solenoid electrical connector (2).
4. Install the transmission support to body retaining bolts. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement (Manual except CTS-V) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (Automatic RWD except CTS-V) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (Automatic AWD) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (CTS-V) (Service and Repair)Transmission Support Replacement (Manual CTS-V) (Service and Repair)
5. Remove the transmission jack.
6. Install the propeller shaft Refer to Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LP1/LY7) (Service and Repair)Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LSA) (Service and Repair)
7. Install the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement (With LY7 or LLT) (Service and Repair)
8. Lower the vehicle.
