Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the driver side instrument panel (I/P) insulator closeout panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair).




2. Remove the bolt (1) securing the brake pedal position switch to the brake panel bracket.
3. Remove the switch.

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the electrical connector on the switch.
2. Align the brake panel position switch to the stud (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the bolt (1) securing the brake panel position switch to the brake panel bracket and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).
4. Install the driver side I/P insulator closeout panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair).
5. Recalibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration (Programming and Relearning).
