Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (LP1, LY7)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the cross car brace, if necessary. Refer to Cross Vehicle Brace Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the oil fill cap.
3. Disengage the cover/shield from the ball studs by pulling up firmly on the right rear and left front of the engine cover.
4. Remove the engine cover/sight shield.
5. Remove the front compartment sight shield, if necessary. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement (Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the front compartment sight shield, if necessary. Refer to Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement (Front Compartment Sight Shields Replacement).
2. Position the engine cover/sight shield over the intake manifold so the grommets are aligned with the ball studs.
3. Press the engine cover/sight shield down firmly near the ball studs in order to install the engine cover/sight shield.
4. Install the oil fill cap.
5. Install the cross car brace, if necessary. Refer to Cross Vehicle Brace Replacement (Service and Repair).
