Owner Letter
Owner LetterFebruary 2010
Dear General Motors Customer:
This notice is sent to inform you that General Motors is conducting a voluntary emission recall that includes your vehicle.
Reason For This Recall: General Motors has decided that certain 2010 model year Cadillac SRX vehicles, equipped with a 2.8L turbo-charged engine, were built with an incorrect Vehicle Emission Control Information Label. The label misidentifies the emissions test group.
What Will Be Done: Your Cadillac dealer will install a new Vehicle Emission Control Information Label. This service will be performed for you at no charge until August 31, 2010.
How Long Will The Repair Take? Because of service scheduling requirements, it is likely that your dealer will need your vehicle longer than the actual service correction time of approximately 15 minutes.
What You Should Do: Please contact your Cadillac dealer as soon as possible to arrange a service date. When scheduling your appointment, please provide your dealer with your vehicle's 17-character vehicle identification number (VIN). Your VIN can be found above your name and address at the top of this letter, and will follow the numbers "10022". Your dealer will need your VIN to order the label for your vehicle so that it will be available on the day of your service appointment.
Instructions for making this correction have been sent to your dealer. Please ask your dealer if you wish to know how much time will be needed to schedule, process, and install the label.
If you have any questions or need any assistance, just contact your dealer or the appropriate Customer Assistance Center at the number listed below.
Emission Law Information: In order to ensure your full protection under the emission warranty made applicable to your vehicle by State and Federal Law, and your right to participate in future recalls, it is recommended that you have your vehicle serviced as soon as possible. Failure to do so could legally be determined to be lack of proper maintenance of your vehicle.
We are sorry to cause you this inconvenience; however, we have taken this action in the interest of your continued satisfaction with our products.
