Glass Breakage Sensor Malfunction
Glass Breakage Sensor Malfunction
Diagnostic Instructions
* Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle) prior to using this diagnostic procedure.
* Review Strategy Based Diagnosis (Strategy Based Diagnosis) for an overview of the diagnostic approach.
* Diagnostic Procedure Instructions (Diagnostic Procedure Instructions) provides an overview of each diagnostic category.
Circuit/System Description
The glass breakage sensors are located on the rear side windows and are supplied B+ at all times. The body control module (BCM) monitors the glass breakage sensor signal circuit. If the rear side glass is broken, the glass breakage sensor signal circuit will open and the BCM will no longer see voltage on the circuit.

Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B67A ultrasonic intrusion sensor 1.
2. Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 1 and ground.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit fuse is open, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
3. Connect the harness connector at the B67A ultrasonic intrusion sensor 1. Disconnect the harness connector at the B67B ultrasonic intrusion sensor 2.
4. Verify a test lamp illuminates between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the B67A ultrasonic intrusion sensor 1.
5. Connect the harness connector at the B67B ultrasonic intrusion sensor 2. Disconnect the X6 harness connector at the K9 BCM.
6. Verify a test lamp illuminates between the signal circuit terminal 13 and ground.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the B67B ultrasonic intrusion sensor 2.
7. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the K9 BCM.
Repair Instructions
