Vehicle Yaw Sensor with Vehicle Lateral Accelerometer Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Move the RF seat to the rearmost position.
3. Carefully lift the floor carpet at the seam.
4. Disconnect the yaw rate sensor and lateral accelerometer electrical connector.
5. Remove the yaw rate sensor and lateral accelerometer nuts (1).




6. Remove the yaw rate sensor and lateral accelerometer bolt (1).




7. Remove the yaw rate sensor and lateral accelerometer (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the yaw rate sensor and lateral accelerometer (1).





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the yaw rate sensor and lateral accelerometer bolt (1) and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).




3. Install the yaw rate sensor and lateral accelerometer nuts (1) and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).
4. Connect the yaw rate sensor and lateral accelerometer electrical connector.
5. Position the carpet to the floor.
6. Install a scan tool.
7. Using the special functions menu on the scan tool, reset the yaw rate sensor.
8. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle.
