In 1983 and in prior years, some 2.5L 151 cu.in. L4 engines may contain crankshafts with ten thousandths (.010") undersize connecting rod journals.

ORANGE DAUBS OF PAINT:

Crankshafts with undersize journals can be identified by orange daubs of paint on both sides of the connecting rod journals as shown below.
The .010" undersize connecting rod bearings are available through WDDGM (P/N 5463929).

No service crankshafts will have undersize connecting rod journals.
