Rocker Arm Assembly: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air cleaner assembly, disconnect spark plug wires from valve cover.
3. Remove PCV hose and EGR valve (if equipped).
4. Remove engine oil filler tube, disconnect vacuum pipe rail from intake manifold and thermostat housing.
5. Remove valve cover attaching bolts and valve cover.
6. Remove rocker arm bolt and ball, rocker arm(s) and pushrod(s).

NOTE: If only pushrods are being replaced, loosen rocker bolt and swing arm away from pushrod, then remove pushrod through hole in cylinder head.

7. Reverse procedure to install.
8. Torque rocker arm bolts to:

24 Ft. Lbs.
