Disassemble

1. Remove reverse inhibitor fitting from outside of case, then remove spring and spacer from inside of case.

2. If necessary, use tool No. J-26941 to remove input shaft and output shaft bearing cups. To install bearing cups, use tool No. J-26938.

3. Remove oil slingers.

4. If differential side bearing cups are to be replaced, use tool No. J-26941 to remove bearing cups. To install bearing cups, use tool No. J-23423-A.

5. Check interlock bracket and reverse shift fork guide pins. Remove sealant from case mating surface, using care not to damage case surface.

6. Clean all components and inspect and replace as necessary.
