Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Ensure ignition switch is in the Off position.
2. Remove air cleaner.
3. Disconnect electrical connectors from pump.
4. Support inlet fitting with a 3/4 inch wrench, then disconnect inlet tube.
5. Repeat step 4 to remove outlet fitting.
6. Remove pump mounting bracket attaching nut, then pump.

INSTALLATION
1. Reverse removal procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque pump mounting bracket attaching nut to 18 ft lb.
b. Torque inlet and outlet fuel lines to 19 ft lb.
c. After pump is installed, disconnect fuel line at filter and turn ignition switch to On position in order to bleed lines.
d. Inspect all connections for leaks.
