Wiper Gear Box: Service and Repair

CAMARO

1. Remove three mounting grommets from transmission housing cover and cover.
2. Remove drive link retainer, then disengage drive link from cam drive pin and position so that cam retainer is accessible. When reassembling drive link to cam, a new retainer must be used.
3. Remove cam retainer and washer, then cam from shaft. During assembly, if cam does not seat fully when pushed onto drive shaft, rotate cam 180 degrees.
4. Drill out three rivets attaching housing to wiper gearbox, and remove transmission.
5. Reverse procedure to install. A service kit is available for installation of the transmission. The kit includes screw, nuts and washers to replace the rivets.
