Assemble
piston to rod with notch on piston facing toward front of engine and the raised notch side of rod at bearing end facing toward rear of engine,
Fig. 17. Upon installation, measure the
connecting rod side clearance using a suitable feeler gauge. Clearance should be .006 to .022 inch.
