Oil Pump: Service and Repair

Fig. 14 Oil pump replacement:

1. Remove engine assembly as previously described.
2. Drain crankcase, then remove alternator drive belt.
3. Remove starter motor, then install flywheel holder tool No. J-35271 or equivalent.
4. Remove crankshaft pulley and boss.
5. Remove front cover, then the timing belt.
6. Remove crankshaft timing pulley and tension pulley.
7. Remove oil pan attaching bolts and the oil pan.
8. Remove oil strainer attaching bolt and the strainer.
9. Remove oil attaching bolts and the oil pump, Fig. 14.

10. Reverse procedure to install. Apply suitable sealant to oil pump mating surface, Fig. 15.
