Road Test Procedure

1. Connect suitable tachometer to engine.

2. Place selector lever in Drive position and accelerate vehicle from a rest at minimum throttle opening. Downshifts should occur as vehicle speed decreases to 0 mph. Stop vehicle.

3. Place selector lever in Intermediate position and accelerate the vehicle from a rest a 1-2 shift should occur at all throttle opening. No 2-3 shift can be obtained in this range. Stop vehicle.

4. Place selector lever in Low. No upshift should occur in this range.

5. Place selector lever in rive and accelerate vehicle to 35 mph, then move selector lever to Intermediate. A 3-2 downshift should occur, increasing engine RPM and an engine braking effect should be noticed on deceleration. Stop vehicle.

6. With selector lever in intermediate at approximately 25 mph, but not over 40 mph, at closed throttle, move selector lever to Low. A 2-1 downshift should occur, increasing engine RPM and an engine braking effect should be noticed on deceleration. Stop vehicle.

7. Place selector lever in Reverse and check for reverse operation.
