88chevy11

Number: REISSUE 87-273-6E
Section: 6E
Date: MARCH, 1988
Subject: PCV VALVE RUBBER ELBOWLOOSE/DISCONNECTED

Model and Year: 1987 CELEBRITY WITH 2.5L L4 ENGINE (VIN R)
TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

Chevrolet dealer service bulletin 87-273-6E is being reissued to correct the engine VIN code. All copies of 87-273-6E dated February 1988 should be destroyed.

Some 1987 Celebrity models with 2.5L L4 engines (VIN R), may experience vacuum leaks and subsequently set a Code 35 in the ECM.

This condition may be caused by a disconnection of the rubber elbow from the PCV valve which could have occurred during vehicle assembly and/or during repair.

If an engine is diagnosed through normal service procedures as having a loose or disconnected PCV valve rubber elbow, install a clamp P/N 10044319, in the location shown (See Diagram). Crimp the clamp with tool J35566 or equivalent.

NOTICE: 1987 CELEBRITY MODELS SHIPPED AFTER MARCH 1, 1987 HAD THE CLAMP FACTORY - INSTALLED.
Use applicable labor operation and time.
