Caliper Assembly
1. Clean all brake components in clean denatured alcohol. Use dry, filtered compressed air to dry components and blow out caliper housing passages.
2. Check piston to bore fit, by sliding piston in and out of piston bore. Piston should slide in and out smoothly.
3. Install rubber cap onto bleeder screw, then insert bleeder screw into caliper.
4. Using clean brake fluid, lubricate piston seal, then install seal into caliper bore groove. Ensure seal is not twisted in piston bore groove.
5. Using clean brake fluid, lubricate caliper bore and piston assembly.
6. Install boot over end of piston. Place piston into caliper bore. Push piston completely down into caliper bore. Ensure boot is properly seated into groove around piston and into groove in caliper bore.
7. Using silicone grease or equivalent, lubricate caliper guide pins.
8. Install new guide pin boots over guide pins.
9. Install guide pins into mounting bracket.
10. Install caliper over rotor and into mounting bracket. Ensure brake shoe springs are positioned properly.
11. Install new self locking bolts. Torque bolts to 26---40 ft. lbs.
12. Pump brake pedal firmly and slowly three times to bring pads into contact with brake rotor.
13. Bleed brake system, if necessary.
