Electronic Brake Control Module: Description and Operation
The control module consists of two board plates. Components such as resistors, diodes, transistors and large integrated circuits are mounted on one side of plates and both sides have conductor paths. These integrated circuits (IC) contain thousand of transistors, resistors and diodes mounted on a single silicon chip. Plates are housed in control module and surrounded by light alloy casting.
Wheel acceleration, deceleration and slip values are calculated from electric signals transmitted from wheel speed sensors, which are proportional to wheel speed. Electrical signals from this module produce commands for the hydraulic modulator valves.
The control module is located in rear storage compartment behind drivers seat. If control module is defective, it must be replaced as an assembly. No attempt should be made to repair this module.
